GM Procure have commissioned Arup, to consider a range of domestic properties owned by Salix Homes in Salford and investigate the best interventions for reducing energy use and lowering tenants' bills, with the retrofit agenda in mind.
Arup's remit was to explore all technologies available and consider which may work best. Amongst a range of options, they examined doors, windows, loft insulation, dry wall insulation, air source heat pumps and solar panels.
Arup considered a number of crucial questions:
