Mottram Street Piazza (October 2009)

A piazza located within Mottram Street estate, north of Stockport town centre, was an area identified as a ‘priority one regeneration area’ as defined by Stockport’s Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy.

The piazza is the largest area of open space within the estate, which has little usable community provision. The area, a mass of concrete overlooked by multi-storey and maisonette accommodation, was an unattractive and unusable space, which has attracted anti-social behaviour...
